My Story:

I have struggled with my weight ever since I was a child. I was fed improperly but didn't have a choice in what I ate because of the financial problems my family had. I was brought up in a strict household, not having the freedom in partaking in any physical activities after school. Eating meant more than just nourishing the body. I ate when I was bored, nervous, angry, sad, depressed and happy. Due to overeating and the lack of exercise, my weight was yo-yoing up and down for over 20 years. I always knew that I was capable of losing weight, I just didn't know where to start.

 

My experience with Diet Doctors and their staff:

The staff at Diet Doctors is really helpful and informative. I couldn't have been successful without the guidance and encouragement of Nurse Eva. She is always cheering me on during my check-ups and genuinely cares about my concerns. The Board Certified Physician who examined me was very professional. In addition, I find the energizing Vitamin B-12 injections and the FDA-approved, physician-prescribed medication to be very helpful in the process of losing weight.

 

What motivated me to lose weight?

It all started when I found out that three friends of mine were struggling with serious health problems that lead them in hospital care. I saw similar signs in myself and became concerned. Some problems I noticed were difficulty in walking uphill, still overeating until I felt satisfied, and not being able to breathe in my clothes. High cholesterol and diabetes are common issues in my family and I got scared straight when I attended a seminar focusing on both of these topics. I wanted to lose a little bit of weight to help me get started in having a healthier lifestyle and lessen my chances in following my family's pattern. I weighed 155 lbs when I first stepped into the Diet Doctors Medical Center and I was skeptical in trusting a weight loss program.

 

What were/are my biggest challenges?

It was hard getting used to drinking a lot of water and following a structured plan. The Diet Doctors plan is structured yet it allows freedom in your choices of low-calorie foods. It was also hard to break my mental cravings of desserts and junk foods.

 

Special tip(s) I would like to share:

Don't wDon't give up quickly! Have at least two supportive people by your side during your process. Once you've made a commitment to change, create a motivational board with goals in mind surrounding a photo of how you looked when you first began.
